Details
3M™ Silvercel™ Dressings are antimicrobial and alginate. This type of dressing is widely used as a treatment for weepy wounds. The dressing takes the weeping wounds and brings it up to the dressing then turns it into a gel surface that will maintain a damp area for accelerated healing. The dressing can remain in place for 5-7 days and when you are ready to remove, the EASYLIFT™ Technology ensures pain-free removal. Sold as 2 X 2 Inch, or 4-1/2 X 4-1/2 Inch Box of 10.

Dressing Preparation
- Cut (using clean scissors) SILVERCEL™ NON-ADHERENT Dressing or fold the dressing to fit the wound.
- Ensure SILVERCEL™ NON-ADHERENT Dressing does not overlap the wound margins.
- Gently apply SILVERCEL™ NONADHERENT Dressing to the wound.
- Loosely pack deep wounds. As wound conditions improve and exudate levels decrease, moisten the wound bed with normal saline solution prior to application.
- Cover SILVERCEL™ NON-ADHERENT Dressing with a secondary dressing such as one from the KERRAFOAM™ Dressings. Choose the secondary dressing based on the level of exudate.
- Apply any secondary cover or retention / compression bandage.
- Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and discard. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution prior to removal.
- Dressing change frequency will depend on wound condition and the level of exudate. Reapply SILVERCEL™ NON-ADHERENT Dressing when the secondary dressing has reached its absorbent capacity or according to good wound care practice.
