The Spectra® Mamivac® Conical Shaped Nipple Shield is conical in shape and available in a size of 20mm. These nipple shields assist mom when the baby is experiencing latching issues by providing an extended nipple for easier latching.

When purchasing the Spectra® Mamivac® nipple shields, please consider the following.
1. The Spectra® Mamivac® Conical Shaped Nipple Shield needs to fit a little tighter than a conventional breast shield. Please also consider your little ones mouth size as a larger shield will not work or assist a baby with a smaller mouth.
2. The Conical-Shaped nipple shield should be at least 1-2 mm bigger than the diameter of the nipple.

Q: How do you use the Spectra® Mamivac® Conical Shaped Nipple Shield?
A: A short massage to the nipple area to make the nipples stand upright will make the use of Spectra® Mamivac® nipple shields much easier. Turn the soft edges up and press the nipple shield as close as possible to your nipple. Press the soft edges afterwards to your skin.
Q: I’m not sure which nipple shield to use considering the size options?
A: If your nipple measures 17 mm or less in diameter, we recommend that the breast shield size to use would be 18 mm. If your nipple diameter size measures greater than 18 mm, your recommended size would be 28 mm. An ideal scenario would be for the diameter of mom's nipple to be slightly smaller than the nipple shield size for the perfect fit.
Q: Can these nipple shields cause damage in the long term?
A: No, not at all. They actually protect a breastfeeding mothers nipples by protecting when their baby does not latch on properly which can cause further damage and intense pain.
Q: How do you clean these nipple shields properly?
A:. Start by rinsing the Spectra® Mamivac® Conical Shaped Nipple Shields in cold water after breastfeeding. Afterwards, wash in hot, soapy water and rinse under hot running water. Allow the additional water to drain, dry and store in a clean sterilized container.
Q: For how long must I use the Spectra® Mamivac® Conical Shaped Nipple Shield?
A: We recommend that the nipple shields are used initially, when there are breastfeeding latching issues. They are not meant to be long-term solutions, but rather an alternate solution to get the baby used to nursing full-time from the breast.
